Enhancing Kids Learning Through Play

Former kids TV presenter, Anna Williamson, created an informative video and article sharing how day to day play can enhance your child’s learning of vital skills. Most parents will agree that play is an important part of a child learning and growing up, and by being playful whenever you can, will lend itself to greater learning. For example, Anna suggests these simple activities:
  • Fine motor skills and dexterity – Dividing up small treats and putting them in different jars, sorted by similar characteristics.
  • Telling the time and dexterity – Playing with a clock and coming up with timing games.
  • Numeracy – Counting the steps to bed time, counting the number of socks in a basket.
  • Creativity and literacy – use playing cards and toys to create on going stories.
